Donald Trump has been attacked by Joe Biden on abortion access on the second anniversary of the US Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade.

“Two years ago today, Donald Trump’s Supreme Court majority ripped away the freedom for women to access the health care they need and deserve,” the president wrote on X on Monday. “The consequences have been devastating. Trump did this.”

The Biden campaign has also launched a new ad in which a Louisiana woman describes being denied entry to two emergency rooms while suffering a miscarriage and comments that Trump “thinks he should not be held accountable for his own criminal actions, but he will let women and doctors be punished.”

Trump and Biden are currently preparing to go head-to-head in their first prime-time televised presidential debate of 2024 later this week, with the president taking time out at Camp David in Maryland to prepare.

The Republican, meanwhile, has been out on the campaign trail, imploring conservative Christians to vote for him at a conference in Washington DC over the weekend in an energetic and joke-filled speech and telling a crowd in Philadelphia that his trademark rambling approach to public addresses is a sign of genius.

Trump Media stock rises by 23 percent

Shares in the Trump Media & Technology Group climbed by about 23 percent on Monday morning as it prepares to rake in millions from exercising warrants.

Trump media shares, the stock behind Trump’s social media platform Truth Social, started trading at about $34 on Monday – the stock had sunk about 35 percent following the former president’s conviction on 34 felony counts in his hush money trial in New York, according to Quartz.

The company said on Friday that it expects to get nearly $70m from the cash exercise of warrants on 20 and 21 June. They added that if all the warrants covered by the registration statement are exercised, the company could get as much as $247m.

Kristi Noem says she hasn’t been vetted to be Trump’s running mate

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has revealed that she’s not being vetted to be former President Donald Trump’s running mate.

On Sunday, Noem was asked on Meet The Press on NBC if she had received any vetting paperwork.

“The only person who knows who the vice president’s going to be is Donald Trump,” she said.

She added: “I haven’t received any paperwork. I’ve had conversations with the president, and I know that he is the only one who will be making the decisions on who will be his vice president.”

Noem is considered by observers to have committed a major unforced error when she revealed in her memoir No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward, that she shot her family’s 14-month-old dog.

Rightwing group creating list of government workers seen as hostile to Trump agenda

A rightwing group is creating a list of federal works that they think would work against the agenda of former President Donald Trump if he wins the election in the fall.

A former congressional aide to Republican senators, Tom Jones, and his American Accountability Foundation are looking at backgrounds, social media accounts, and other commentary by top government employees, beginning with those at the Department of Homeland Security.

The group is partly relying on tips from a network of conservative contacts, including members of staff. They’re working on publishing their results online. They’ve received a $100,000 grant from the Heritage Foundation with the goal of publishing 100 names of government staffers to a site to reveal to a possible second Trump administration who could work against their agenda.

Liz Cheney trolls Trump with Taylor Swift video: ‘This is what a sold out crowd actually looks like’

Former Republican Wyoming Representative Liz Cheney shared a video of a Taylor Swift concert to mock former President Donald Trump’s rally attendance.

“Thank you @taylorswift13 for giving us a million reasons to smile. PS- @realDonaldTrump this is what a sold out crowd actually looks like,” Cheney wrote on X on Sunday night.

Trump has long posted about the size of crowds at his rallies, but faced criticism on social media over the weekend as his rallies in Philadelphia showed half-filled arenas.

The video shared by Cheney featured a moment from Swift’s Eras Tour performance in London when she brought on boyfriend and Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.

Kelce and Swift received nationwide attention when they started dating, and their partnership also elicited right-wing ire and baseless conspiracy theories after The New York Times reported in January that President Joe Biden was seeking Swift’s endorsem*nt.

All of Trump’s celebrity obsessions over the years

Celebrities hanging around with US presidents is not a new phenomenon — but when it comes to hating on fellow celebrities no one does it quite like former president Donald Trump.

Other presidents simply befriended celebs — Bill Clinton famously played his saxophone for Arsenio Hall and has been photographed with numerous A-listers, including Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and Charlize Theron, among others, both during and after his presidency.

Barack Obama’s inauguration was attended by Jay Z, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, and Magic Johnson, and former First Lady Michelle Obama’s 50th birthday party was held on Oprah Winfrey’s estate.

But Trump has been starting fights and insulting other famous people for years — here are some who’ve caught his attention and wrath.

Nigel Farage agrees with Sandy Hook conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ rant in resurfaced clip

Nigel Farage agreed with Sandy Hook conspiracy theorist Alex Jones in a rant about ‘the left’ in a resurfaced clip from the disgraced Infowars host.

In the 2018 interview – just after parents of those killed in the US school massacre began legal action against Jones – the host claimed he was being targeted by “frauds”. In December 2012, 26 people – including 20 children – were killed by Adam Lanza, 20, at Sandy Hook elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut, one of the worst school shootings in US history.

Mr Farage has appeared on the far-right conspiracy theorist’s talk show at least six times, and many of the interviews involve discussions of conspiracy theories such as “the New World Order”.

Melania unlikely to return to DC if Trump wins election, experts say

Former first lady Melania Trump is unlikely to return to Washington, DC in the event that her husband Donald Trump wins a second term in the White House, according to the experts.

A number of “Melania-ologists” quoted by Axios all agree that the Slovenian former model has little appetite for the cut-and-thrust of contemporary politics and do not believe she will move back to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue should the 45th president beat Joe Biden in November.

Although her husband is rarely out of the headlines as he campaigns for the Oval Office and promotes his business interests while fending off an array of complex legal challenges, Melania herself has only been seen in public on a few occasions this year, most recently at her son Barron’s high school graduation, and has taken no part in Trump’s rallies nor shown up to support him at his recent New York hush money trial.

“She’s distancing herself even more from her husband and from the Washington social political scene,” said Kate Andersen Brower, author of First Women (2016) and a number of other books on the White House and America’s first ladies.

What is Donald Trump’s net worth?

Donald Trump is having an expensive year.

Nearly seven months into 2024, the former president was found guilty of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records following his hush money trial. He will be sentenced on July 11 — just days before he’s named the official GOP nominee at the Republican National Convention — and could be hit with hefty fines in the wake of his conviction.

This comes after two civil case rulings with multi-million dollar penalties. In January, a New York judge ordered Trump to pay writer E Jean Carroll $83.3m after he was found liable for defaming her.

Lauren Boebert 2.0 is even more MAGA and extreme than the original

Khaki sleeves rolled up and safety goggles adjusted, Ron Hanks stares into the sight of a high-powered rifle before pulling the trigger on Colorado’s arid plains – ostensibly blowing up an office copier disguised as a voting machine in a video political campaign ad.

The attention-grabbing clip vaulted Hanks into headlines during his unsuccessful Senate campaign two years ago; now he’s followed it up with equally hard-nosed, gun-themed and solemn campaign ads – as the combat veteran vies to fill the seat being vacated by MAGA firebrand Rep. Lauren Boebert.

“I’m the only conservative in this race,” former Republican state representative Hanks tells The Independent. “And I’m the only conservative with a proven legislative record … look at my time in the state house, when I fought for the Second Amendment and I fought for election integrity and I fought for the unborn.”

This is the candidate endorsed by the central committee of the state GOP in the race to replace Boebert in a district she nearly lost to a Democrat two years ago – and a district she’s fled for a better shot at a seat across the state.

The most controversial Congressional primary in history is about Israel — and so much more

On Saturday, Representative Jamaal Bowman held a rally at St Mary’s Park in the birthplace of hip-hop, where he quoted lines from Boogie Down Production’s “South Bronx.”

Bowman brought out the big guns — and not just his biceps, that he says he has earned from bench-pressing 405 pounds — including Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Bernie Sanders.

Bowman, a member of the Squad who once pulled off a shocker primary challenge, now faces an unprecedented onslaught from a primary challenger backed by pro-Israel Democrats — including the American Israel Public Affairs Committee — in what has become the most expensive congressional primary in American history.

“We are going to show f**king AIPAC the power of the motherf**king South Bronx,” Bowman said at his rally, in reference to the money provided by the advocacy group to his opponent in an effort to unseat him.

But Bowman’s district does not include the South Bronx. Rather, Representative Ritchie Torres, an ardently pro-Israel Democrat who quit the Congressional Progressive Caucus, can call the South Bronx part of his district.
