I purchase my Maytag Side by Side Refrigerator back in 2006 New. I purchase a Maytag based on the supposedly quality of their Products. And I have stove, and dishwasher as well. A week ago, after purchasing groceries, and made it home. The Refrigerator had gone out. I tried calling Maytag without success and broke down and called sears repair to come out. Well they made it today, and I was informed the Compressor had gone out, and would cost me $998.00 to repair. Of course I told him to get out of my home, because at that price I could purchase a new one. And you can bet it want be a Maytag ever again. I am so disappointed in their claims of being the best. Hype!!!

Not long after the 1 year warranty expired the washer started making noise while agitating. Long story short, the transmission is making the noise and should be replaced. It is a $200+ part. While it is still working ok, Im waiting for it to fail completely. Not good for an expensive washer. I dont think Ill buy Maytag again.

From the time I wrote the complaint until February 2012, I had been dealing with this Maytag Atlantis washing machine (and dryer, which was equally as bad) and I am pleased to report the thing finally died for good! I got another (almost) 3 years out of it! Thats pretty impressive when you consider that I had to manually adjust each load to re-spin. To recap, I purchased it in the summer of 2002 and managed to hold on to it for almost 10 years. I wouldnt normally recommend doing what I did but I was determined to run it into the ground before I replaced it. I replaced it with a GE washer and dryer and couldnt be happier. Maytag will get no further business from me.

Last week I noticed that my freezer motor had a build up of frost. I melted it with a hair dryer. 2 days later there was a layer of frozen water on the bottom of my freezer as well as a layer of water on the first shelf in the fridge area. There is no way to access the drainage tube. I thought that the coils needed to be cleaned. That was not successful either since the coils run horizontal and only the front section can be vacuumed. Today, again the freezer motor area is frosted and layer of ice on bottom and the motor is making a terrible noise. How disappointing for a less than 2 year old fridge.

It seems the water line installed at the factory was pulled so tightly that it has caused the solenoid inlet to start leaking. We really researched this refrigerator and thought we were buying the best. Not so, Maytag wont warranty it. The last purchase of Maytag I will ever make. We should have bought the Samsung but we were trying to buy American. Wont make that mistake again. Not a smart investment. Refrigerators are supposed to last a good ten years. How sad.

25 months ago, I bought a brand new Maytag stainless steel microwave. We had upgraded all of our appliances except the microwave when we moved in our home. Our first purchase was the Maytag refrigerator. Should have learned my lesson from that because after less than a year, the freezer on the bottom went out twice! We bought this new microwave to replace an old one that didnt match the other appliances and was worn out. Two months ago, the code SE started appearing and then would go away after a few minutes. Now it doesnt go away and you cant use the microwave. I finally called a repair person since its out of warranty and was told that it would cost over $300 to fix it. Really! Im so angry because now I have to take money. I dont have to replace a microwave that should have another few years of use. Nothing at all reliable about a Maytag. I doubt Ill buy anything else they make.

After research I see that this machine has many complaints against it. I bought Maytag because they never need repair. I would like Maytag to fix this machine without charge or recall the machine. From what I have read, these machines are defective. The electronics are failing at 2 to 3 years.

Called to see if there is any suggestions or work arounds and was told they would be glad to set up a service call for between $70 and $100, where they could tell me how much it would cost to fix. As with the other 100s of folks with the same problem, they basically said gee, you should have bought an extended warranty. If you have this many people with the same problem then it is Maytags problem, not the poor sucker consumer who got stuck with it. If you are considering this dishwasher, run, dont walk, as far from a Maytag or Westinghouse product as you can get. If anyone starts a class action suit against this product, please count us in!

Minor leak on certain wash settings such as Rapid Wash setting that worsened (and I could live with), so that setting wasnt used. Last month the washer door was flapping open DURING a spin cycle. I stopped machine only to find the entire barrel had dropped and metal wire wrapped around clothing. Worst washer ever!

We purchased a Maytag MFI2670XEW6 french door/Bottom freezer refrigerator in July of 2012 through Home Depot and for the past 6 months have had to scrape ice off the bottom of freezer every 5 days or so to prevent water flowing on floor. I see so many exact complaints from people that I am just fuming! Cannot believe this company is not backing their products up with that issue. A recall should most definitely been done. I grew up believing Maytag was top of the line but I am wrong. I bought this to replace a 16 year old GE refrigerator (side by side) which I never had any problem with and now I regret not replacing it with another GE. I havent contacted the company yet as I thought I would check complaint reviews before I did that but it seems that the company is just treating their customers like dirt. To spend $2200 for a refrigerator and have problems within the first 3 years is unacceptable!!! They had better start going good on this problem or face the fact that they will no longer be in business a short time down the road. The best form of advertising is word of mouth and online reviews and it looks like they are going to lose a lot of customers with the direction they are taking.

We have had our washing machine for about 6 months, we got the F3 E6 error code. After doing some research, we found out that the control module was what we needed to replace. My husband and I called both Maytag and Lowe’s, (the store we purchased the washer from). We have been given the runaround. After talking with several managers in the Lowe’s warranty department, we were told that we had to contact Maytag directly about that particular problem. Okay, no big deal. We called and every single time we were put on hold for at least 30 minutes before we were hung up on. Not once did we even get to speak to a person. If we don’t get a response and our problem doesn’t get fixed, I will be going to the Better Business Bureau.

Called the repair man and they told me the bearing and spin basket needed replaced. I had always had Kenmores with very little issues and they lasted for 12 years plus each. I get the HE model from Maytag and cant even go 3 1/2 years without some major issue. I called Maytag (Whirlpool) to complain and they said there wasnt anything they could do. I reminded them that I had checked for recalls on this model and looked into some of the complaints about this washer and that there were many of the same issues that I had plus many others. I felt like there should have been a recall on the bearing since they are going out too soon for this kind of a washer. I guess the Maytag repair man is now busier than ever since I dont see them on any advertisem*nts anymore. Well, I will never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool appliance again after this.

Maytag/Whirlpool believes its products should work for 1 year and then become obsolete, at least this is what the Maytag/Whirlpool customer service line told me. I purchased a MVWB950YW (Bravos XL) top loader on September 4th, 2012 for $948.00 plus $99.00 for an extended warranty. The washer worked marginally well when it was brand new. June 2014, the washer in spin mode started to sound like a freight train was about to run through my house. When I called for service the service company immediately signaled it was a bad bearing and offered me $500 to put towards a new or refurbished Maytag!!! They claimed if they were to repair the machine it would VOID the extended service contract?? I wanted the washer fixed, I did not want to spend more money to buy a new machine. I continued to use the machine as is, with the incredibly loud noise. June 2015, the same machine starts to leak water and is even louder. Again the company in charge of the service contract offers money for me to put towards a new or refurbished machine. Net is, Maytag/Whirlpool engineers its products based on its warranty - 1 year. Anything after that they view as an opportunity to steal more money from you and I the consumer. Do yourself a favor and NEVER purchase a Maytag/Whirlpool product. I would like to think American products are superior to its foreign counterparts, however Maytag/Whirlpool is not in this league. In my opinion, Maytag/Whirlpool has lost the privilege to call itself American and should no longer be allowed to do business in this country.

We figured it was the control board and braced for the expense to replace it. A few days later, I plugged the oven back in just to see if it would work and it did! The control panel came back on and we were up and running. The good news end there. On Christmas Eve, we came home to a house full of smoke with fire alarms buzzing. A butcher block style cutting board that was on top of the range with Santas cookies on it was on fire. Twenty more minutes and the house would have been gone.

I had a repairman come out. All he did was take out the trouble shooting guide, press a code, and wait. The machine told him that each function worked. Even though it did not work properly. He hid the trouble shooting guide inside the machine, so I cannot get to it. Now I have so many problems with this machine, that it takes me all day to do 1 load. This thing makes noises that I have never heard from a washing machine in my life. I would never buy another Maytag product, nor do I recommend anyone else to buy one.

The factory technician determined that it had a bad gearbox and that it wasnt anything I had done that caused it. He told me it was going to cost more for parts & labor than the machine was worth. I called Maytag and was told they wouldnt help me because it was after the one-year warranty. When I asked for a supervisor, he offered to pay for the parts, but not the service. Thats kind of like Chevy offering to pay for the defective engine part, but not the installation. I have never bought a major appliance (or even a hair dryer) where I thought 3 years was a reasonable life expectancy. Lifelong Maytag Customer has left the building.

Ive had the dishwasher model MDBH979SAB0 for about 3 years now. A few months ago I noticed the faceplate would pop out when you opened the dishwasher. I would have to pop it back in. The dishwasher was out of warranty so I decided to attempt to fix it. I took the faceplate off to realize all of the plastic tabs that screws go in to were snapped off. The only fix for this is a complete new panel from Whirlpool Parts Online to the tune of $194.17 (W10811169).The wheels also fall off the bottom rack. The push pin plastic becomes brittle over time and does not stay in the assembly. To replace the wheel assembly (there are 4 in total) is $38.18 each (W10195416V). The wheels or push pins cant be purchased separately. Both of these items are not covered under warranty past 1 year. Maytags 10 year warranty only covers the upper and Lower Racks (excludes cup shelf and silverware basket), chopper blade and stainless steel tub and inner door liner. So only a small percentage of the parts.The design of the faceplate is defective in that too much force is applied to the faceplate when opening the unit. The handle is integrated in to the faceplate. The plastic used becomes brittle over time and breaks. The panel unit (W10811169) must be replaced in entirety rather than just its housing increasing the cost of repair. To have this failure occur within the first 3 years of use is very premature. I can only assume if I repair the dishwasher I will have the same problem again. I am considering buying a new model that is designed better and comes with a longer warranty on such parts.

I went back to the store and felt the same gap in the seam on the panel on a floor model, so I know it is not just my machine. I called Maytag service and a representative acknowledged the problem but also said that if there is no fix for it, I would be charged for a service call even if no part was replaced- quite a contradictory statement. She said she doubles as the Complaint Department. If this is a manufacturing defect, it should be replaced. The front panel should be recalled.

One valve got stuck and needed replacement within first 13 month. Then another valve got stuck about a year ago and the third one got stuck today Nov 19. So far I spent $400.00, just for 2 of them and the last one has not being replaced yet. This is a safety issue, because it always happen when the stove is on and will not turn off. I need Maytag to replace my stove because I am afraid this will burn my house down. However, in September, 2014 (2 months out of warranty!!), the control panel stopped working. I called the 800 number and the best they could do is to extend the warranty for 6 months BUT only after we paid for repair and control board replacement. This is not cheap!!! We were furious. I looked if there were recalls on this model but there is not (should be). Anyway, after we paid for repairs and a new control panel put in ($160.00 +- for part itself), we were very cautious about touching anything on that dishwasher. YOU HAVE an issue with design and I can give you link after link of other customers who have expressed the same thing. So, here we are in 2017... About 2 months ago, we noticed the exact same symptoms with the control board.In fact the ONLY way we could start the dishwasher was to turn off the breaker, let it sit for 20 minutes - overnight and then turn back on and hit the start button. We lost all control over the settings. Only auto clean and delay 2 hours were working. Yesterday, I purchased yet another control board ($179 incl tax and shipping). I plan to install myself. If I could afford another dishwasher, I would do it and never buy Maytag again. Maytag really ought to be ashamed and if they were truly concerned they would offer these defective parts at a steep discount or better yet, recall. I plan on submitting something about this issue with any consumer group I can find. I guess the only way to spread the word and perhaps force a company to respond is to post on social media anymore. I purchased the Neptune HE pair because they are front loading and can be set on pedestals to raise them to a comfortable working height, plus the brand and reputation are both excellent. I like that the chimes can be adjusted from low to high, or turned off. The front loading washers clean so much better and with a lot less damage to items than washers with center agitators. Looks are secondary, thats for sure. Functions like warm/warm cycles and being able to adjust to whatever load needs to be washed is really most important to me. Any appliances with a good, proven track record of reliability with few repairs is high on my list. Expensive appliances should be made to last and be of durable quality! No cheap plastic or weak-looking welds or components, thank you! Quiet operation and dependable cleaning and drying are top in my book, and this pair has exceeded even my picky expectations in total overall performance. They are 11 years old now and look & function like new! I had one minor repair on the washer at 5 years, and not a single problem since. With front loading washers, its important to keep the door open a little when not in use so that they dont get a musky smell. Ive gotten into the habit of using laundry boosters to help clothes, sheets, and towels smelling fresh longer, and putting a small amount in the washer drum has kept my whole laundry room smelling nice. Purchasing the pedestal drawers to set the washer and dryer on added extra storage to my laundry and its much easier for me to load/unload them at this comfortable height. Im totally spoiled by it now, so when I use someone elses laundry room (when I visit) I am reminded how nice my own setup is.

Maytag/GE insists that they are not responsible. As long as they can say backorder technically they are not liable for anything and dont really care that me the customer is having a problem and they Blatantly refuse to even investigate. I spoke with a GE supervisor just today and she basically told me wont help you because my appliance is out of warrenty. Is there any place to give a zero to this Maytag Front Load Washing Machine Model MHW5500FW1 and if there is a class action lawsuit please include us! We have owned other Maytag Washing Machines and never experienced such an epic failure as we have with this washing machine! We were so excited when we purchased our new Maytag washer/dryer set in March of 2018 we even remodeled our pantry/laundry room to accommodate them! As the chief operator of the washing machine, I have literally cried at what a mistake weve made! We have no complaint of the Maytag dryer. Let me describe my new normal procedure for laundering a load of clothes. First, load the washer with clothes then press power/cancel then press rapid wash let the clothes get HOPEFULLY saturated with water then hit hold to start and then hit power/cancel this shuts off the washing machine. I then press power/cancel again and select normal and the water empties out of the washing machine from the prior load and then starts to refill, if the add a garment light comes on (when it wants too) and no I dont change any pre-set settings I am able to add extra water with a pitcher, if this procedure works I let the washer run its 1-hour and 48-minute cycle. If not, I have to start over again because the add garment light wouldnt come on to allow the door to unlock. After the clothes are finished I again press power/cancel then hit rapid wash put my fabric softener in the dispenser press hold to start and let it run its 36-minute cycle making sure my clothes are rinsed appropriately and not stiff because of the lack of water. I neglected to say that when Ive tried tricking the washer and think I am able to add extra water, if Ive added too much the sensing kicks in and the washing machine drains all the water out on its own and refills with the little water it allows! Which is maddening! I throw up my hands and sit down and cry!!! I have contacted Maytag/Whirlpool complaining about the lack of water and their wacky water sensor! I asked them how can you conserve water and electricity when you have to wash your clothes over and over with long wash cycles? This doesnt make sense! My white clothes are now dingy and stiff as well as the colored. Maytag says you can use powdered detergents if its HE High Efficiency powdered detergents, but thats not true. The detergent doesnt dissolve and ends up on the clothes at the end of the long wash cycle because of the lack of water! From the beginning I adjusted the amount of powdered detergent for the front load washer and have to dissolve it in hot water prior to washing and hopefully am able to add it to the clothes if the add a garment will let me! I have now resorted to extra cycles to rinse out any remaining detergent hoping my clothes will be soft and fresh smelling. I had planned to replace my old Maytag agitator washing machine with this piece of junk front loader, fortunately we kept our old washing machine as a back up!

After another Freon charge 7 days later, the fridge will freeze ice only in a manual ice tray. The water in the ice maker for whatever reason will not freeze? To make matters even worse, the freezer fan has been noisy for the last year. Maytags solution is to purchase extended warranty for $300 plus or hire repair person at $100 for first hour. A 36 month old refrigerator is in essence a disposable item. Basically for a $700 fridge… that breaks down to about $20.00 per month service charge and then it’s time to replace!

We bought our Maytag dishwasher at Sears about 2 years ago. It has never cleaned very well, we have to rinse everything almost to the point of spotless before we load it. Its a water saver, which means it takes more than 4 hours to fully cycle. Just today, I went to turn it on and the start button does not work. I looked it up and found that this is a common problem with new Maytag washers. This is really irritating, considering we paid a lot more for the Maytag brand than we would have paid for something without the Maytag reputation. Live and learn, I guess; we certainly will not be buying another Maytag.

In a way, l feel fortunate and you will read why in a minute. l have been reading Maytag complaints specifically looking to see if what happened to me has happened to others. Apparently, it has. We purchased our Maytag range, model MER57750AB, in 2005. We too have had some repairs done under warranty. Unfortunately, we live in a day and age where technology isnt always our friend. The old appliances that were not electronically driven lasted forever; todays appliances do not. However, when something with potentially serious consequences happens that is not technology related, it rates in the who is the idiot who designed that? category. I am talking about the exploding exterior glass oven doors.Two weeks ago, the oven door handle on our range came unscrewed on one side. I continued using the appliance, planning on repairing it myself when l found the time. (I used to tinker around the garage with my dad when I was little and therefore, I have great repair skills in several areas.) Last week, I was standing in front of the stove when all of a sudden, the glass panel dropped from the door! It landed straight up on the floor and fell forward so the top edge of the glass landed on my toes (the toes that I had surgery on for six hammertoes last November and are still sore!). Needless to say, l was shocked that this happened, and even more so, I was grateful that it did not break or either of my two grandbabies were around at the time. Then, I looked at the glass and saw that it was attached to the door using only eight small pieces of double sided sticky mounting foam. I mean small! As I said before, idiot! Did they not think that the heat from the oven would eventually wear out the ability of the tape to do its job? I gave up reading after I found enough complaints about the mishaps with the glass on the oven doors to realize that there is a definite problem here. I did not see where the glass fell intact, as mine did. Therefore, I am suggesting that the exploding glass panels more than likely gave way, as mine did, and shattered when they hit the floor. Should there be a product recall for this? Absolutely! The question is how does a recall get put in motion? As others have stated, this could have been a horrible disaster had little ones been around. I pray that doesnt happen to anyone.

Contacted service & parts dept and learned that repair would cost $100 for service visit and $413 to replace the control board. Only the $80 bake element is covered by the limited warranty. Wonderful oven if your hobby is appliance repair. After 2.5 years, it now functions better as a toilet than an oven.

All of a sudden, with no warning or previous issues, the computer board in the washing machine malfunctioned which caused a humming noise, it would not cycle into the next wash phase, the time would go up instead of down, I could not change cycles, and when I would push the power button there would be a delay of power coming on. I unplugged and called my local appliance repair and he said he sees problems with this model regularly, although not always the same issues.Before purchasing I scoured the internet for reviews on different units to make sure I didnt get a lemon. I think Maytag saw the error of their ways quickly and stopped making these before people caught on. This model is no longer being made. I like matching units, so it meant either shell out $500 for replacing the board, or replacing both the washer and the dryer that still works, which would be about $1200 or more for a new set. I chose the least expensive route for now. Not that it matters where I bought mine, but Home Depot and it was on clearance so it was a good price. I have now made up for that difference in repairs.

I called Maytag and the rep states to me Is it broken in the upper left corner and I replied yes. He continued he is just the parts guy, but every bravos has the same problem. I asked for the replacement part ($302), but he said the part is on back order for 60 days. He continued that maybe I should buy two because it will happen again. I only paid $700 for the washer, but it should never break down after 14 months. I highly recommend a different brand.

Maytag Centennial Impeller HE Washing Machine - The seller left this piece of junk for us. I wondered why because it appeared brand new. After the first washing I knew why. I sure regretted leaving my old set behind. This washing machine wont let you add the amount of water you need. I had to add buckets of water and hope it didnt just empty it out because the sensor controls everything. Twice it just emptied it after I closed the lid and it locked. There is an impeller instead of an agitator. It moves slightly but not enough to move the clothes. To top it off the spin cycle tears into the clothing and twists and wrings it so hard everything is wrinkled with soap residue remaining even on delicate. Each load takes over an hour and the clothes arent even clean. It went to the dump after 4 washes. I went on Craigslist and purchased a used Kenmore and am in heaven. No lock, an agitator, 3 water levels, clean clothing, you can open it and add the missing sock, no sensor controlling how you want to do laundry and no more buckets. Dont buy a Maytag. Look at all of the reviews. They arent exaggerating, they are really that bad. Thank you.

What genius at Maytag thought it was a good idea to place the water filter inside the washer? Not only can you not keep the filter clean so that cold water will flow properly, even worse, if the filter completely clogs, the water will not stop filling into the tub which could, of course cause an overfill and flood. I narrowly escaped this scenario once. No one should have to stand and watch their machine fill with water to insure it stops. Now the machine is causing a grinding noise when agitating. I expect it to stop working any day. I will not buy another Maytag or Whirlpool, who of course now owns Maytag. And I will not pay another repair bill for the filter or any other part. Any clothes that are dirty I do in my 20 year old machine in the basem*nt. Do not purchase this machine if you are under 56 because you will need a step stool. Everything I wash I do on the longest cycle because the other cycles do not get all the clothes wet. Think about what I just said. The machine does not get all the clothes wet. Do not purchase this machine. I really cannot call it a washing machine, but they look real pretty in the laundry room.

The ceramic gas grates are so slippery that pots tend to slide off but the real problem is that the racks inside the oven fall when you place pots on them. I tried cooking a Thanksgiving turkey in it and the racks fell to the bottom of the oven. It appears that the top rack and the bottom rack are the only two that stay in place. And it also appears that when the oven is on, the sides of the oven expand so that the racks fall. I have tried to contact Sears as thats where it was purchased to no avail. I will now attempt to contact Maytag directly but it appears that I will also not get anywhere there. I have read at least one other complaint of this exact same type happening to someone else. This is very dangerous. Do they really want a lawsuit?

I sent out repair man and he gave me a price for repair totaling approx. $300. Called back to Maytag and asked for a supervisor, she agreed to send the parts for free and I had the repair man install. Out the $120 for the repair and wonder how long it will last this time! The control board went out and because it was past the industry standard one-year warranty, we were told we need to pay the cost of repair and parts ourselves. Well, I came here and seen that there were numerous complaints about that board specifically with all their models of dishwashers. I called and raised hell two times, and then I found them on Facebook and publicly bashed them there on their own page. They got back to me there and gave me an email address to explain my problem with their product. So I did. I even copied this web address and pasted it to my complaint. First, they called me and offered the part at 50% off. I told them, Go to hell. Even at 50% off the part combined with the techs labor, Im still better off buying a new machine and it will not be a Maytag ever again! A week after that another phone call came from them, this time saying they will cover the part 100%, but no labor. I agreed and for about $180 I got a new control panel installed and a one-year warranty on everything except cosmetic damage. Not bad, eh? Certainly not typical, I was told by the repair guy. Be angry, be respectful, but be persistent and public! That’s my advice.

I now find I have lost all skeptical-ability and feel that we all may be comrades in this venture of purchasing the new trademark of the trade-mark Maytag. As almost all of us say our previous experience with Maytag was great. My parents had a Maytag since I was knee-high to a grasshopper and we were a family of eight. First we had the one with the rubber rollers, that was a work of mechanical genius. I even remember getting my arm caught in the rollers. Then my dad bought the spin dry model and that lasted a good 20 years. When I say the Bravo X at Sears it looked like the state of the art washer. However, and unfortunately I will have to agree with all of you. It is a piece of scrap metal and Maytag will not recall or recognize their mistake and make good on a recall or something. They told her to not use this setting... buy this detergent... only use cold water etc. Never did they offer a repair guy to come out. A year passes still having issues shes out of warranty. They now offer a repair guy but claim theyre going to charge her $90. Once she explains to them that she was never offered a repair guy & they shouldve done this before. They decided to waive this fee and send a repair guy. Once the technician comes out to the house they do absolutely nothing and they fill it up with water say we need to clean it and Ill come back out and do another diagnostic. When they come back all they do is fill it up with water get a glass check the water and say, Nope, no floating residue. Everythings fine. They then tell her she needs to get a water softener which is going to be hundreds of dollars.The technician also says do not use any other settings except for these two. Can someone please explain to me why they have all these dang buttons and settings if were not supposed to be using any of them and why all of the clothes come out with soap residue scummy residue all over them? The old washer never did this. It was a Kenmore and its the same water same everything but this Maytag washer is been nothing but problems. It leaves the residue which is stripped all over dark and white clothes, it is extremely loud, not all the clothes even get wet! Maytag is been extremely uncooperative with assisting my Nana. I explained to him we keep it clean then he said the screen might be slightly bent. He went on to explain how he seen that happen a lot, I just said uh huh uh huh yeah yeah. So now its like the middle of November and the DRYER Check Lint Screen Light is coming on before every load now and staying on for long periods of time not allowing us to dry our clothing. So I called ** again 2nd week of December this time asking for a new unit. He told me to call the ABC Warehouse Store Warranty Department at 1-800-722-3333. I immediately asked why am I calling technicians instead of new unit when my unit is still under the 1yr factory warranty and in addition too, I have purchased an 5yr extended warranty? They wasnt trying to hear that. So I called Whirlpool 1-800-253-1301 told them the situation and asked for a new unit they said NO and then added by telling me their policies and how many times they can come and attempt to fix my unit before replacing it. I screamed and shouted at them explaining to them that I have spent $1891.14 on a non-working unit for my wife as a wedding gift and I am currently drying my clothes at the local Laundry Mat, they said NO still.So I called Master Tech, they couldnt come out until Feb 3, 2015. Now throughout this whole ordeal Ive been in contact with all 3 companies begging for a new unit and nobody wanted to hear that especially WHIRLPOOL & ABC WAREHOUSE. With Whirlpool knowingly the switchboard didnt fix the issue the first time, they instructed Master Tech back to my home with the same but NEW SWITCHBOARD. LOL WOW I CANT BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING TO US. My husband and I purchased the Bravos XL washer and dryer set about a year ago as our first big washer/dryer purchase for our new home. We spent about $1200 on the set from Home Depot. I very much regret this purchase as the washer never gets our clothing clean! The washer never puts enough water in the basin and the clothing comes out with strange white smudges EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.I have tried changing detergent, I have tried skipping fabric softener, Ive tried rinsing out the dispenser thinking it was residue from old soap. I dont know what it is, but what I DO know is that the clothes go in without the white smudges and come back out with them for every load. I have to run a second rinse cycle just to get it off, which means Im washing for at least an hour and a half. I DESPISE this machine and its costing me more on my water bill.Additionally, the dryer isnt much better. It constantly shuts itself off even when its not on energy saver mode, with the little red light going on for air flow. Ive checked the connection and dont see what the issue is. If I have a big load such as blankets in there, I have to dry them all individually for almost an hour just to dry my bedding! It simply wont stay on to dry a full load. I very much regret my purchase and wish Id gone with something simpler and cheaper as it would have done a much better job with my laundry. Lesson learned. Dont waste your money on Maytag.

Christmas sale, needed a washer. Had a great experience with Whirlpool Duet so went for the on Sale Maytag Bravo MCT. No agitator which I thought odd. Bought the warranty. Did no good as soon as I hauled the washer home (3-hr trip one way). It wasnt washing my clothes clean. Hubby said try different cycles and soap and temperatures but at 8 months pregnant it wasnt long when I didnt fight with the machine but focused on a very busy life. Baby number 7 and I didnt care how the clothes washed as long as they didnt stink. Well baby is older, the warranty is not over and after much dialoging, no one will do anything for me. I put muddy pants in, they come out muddy. I put cloth diapers in, they come out smelling like pee. How hard can it be to come up with a machine that just turns clothes round and round with a little soap and water? Apparently really hard as Maytag failed to test this machine. Maybe city folk just have lightly soiled but on the farm with 7 kids, my kids play hard and their clothes are very dirty. They continue to stay dirty unless I wash them twice on Power Wash and Extra Heavy Load. Not impressed. Would like a replacement washer of equal or lesser value, anything that works. Oh P.S. We use the correct amount of HE detergent and we use the detergent dispenser but it doesnt helps. The machine just doesnt use enough water. We have removed items that still have DRY SPOTS on them when the cycle is done. Areas that have never gotten wet after a 45 minute cycle. Never once had this happen with an agitator machine. Purchased the Bravos XL top load washer a month ago. We work outside daily and our clothes get very dirty. I havent really taxed the machine yet (Im doing what I consider a normal load of wash. I know the machine could handle twice as many clothes as its the 5.3 cubic feet washer, but I havent had that many clothes to put in at one time). The washer works great. Clothes are clean and smell fresh. For those that say this washer is extremely loud - you must not have something set up incorrectly. Either the wet pan you put under the machine is making contact with parts it shouldnt or someone didnt level it properly. Really, this is NOT a loud machine. We purchased from Lowes and they delivered, set up and leveled both the washer and dryer. (Yes, we also purchased the matching Bravos XL front load dryer and were impressed that it dries our clothes in half the time our old one did). We would definitely recommend the Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer.
