“Hello Reader! I try my hardest to research recipes as best as I can before posting to ensure I am representing each culture correctly. If this recipe is from your country and I have made a mistake or you have suggestions for how to make it more authentic, I would love to hear! Please leave a comment below letting me know what should be different, and I will rework the recipe. It is always my intention to pay homage and respect to each cultural dish that I cook. Thanks for reading!”

When it was time to cook my second recipe from Côte d’Ivoire, I originally wanted to try this Smoked Turkey Leg in Egusi Sauce from Global Table Adventure.

But then I couldn’t find turkey thighs or melon seeds and the only pumpkin seeds I could find had the shells on (thanks Corona Virus). When I tried making the recipe with the pumpkin seed shell ON, it (understandably) did not turn out great. So…. time to pivot!

I have a friend that is also cooking a meal from every country in the world, and I saw that she made this Avocado Salad Recipe…. So I had to try it! I love avocado and the spices were intriguing to me. So here we are, a delicious avocado salad recipe for your enjoyment. But pairing it with a serving of Fettuccine Alfredo as shown in this list of what to serve with fettuccine will set in some major food cravings!

How Do You Make this Recipe

Cut the avocados into cubes and add them into a large bowl.

Place the rest of the ingredients in the bowl and mix to combine. Sprinkle an extra bit of paprika on top of the salad as well.
Enjoy with tortilla chips, as a side to salmon, or even as a side to this Ivorian Fried Tuna Steak!

Does Avocado Go Brown in Salad?

Yes, unfortunately avocado does brown quite quickly, which means that if you make this salad ahead of time, it may brown. This is okay as the browning doesn’t normally change the taste of avocado that much if it is within a day or two of preparation.

The good news here is that there’s lemon juice in this recipe! Lemon juice can’t affect the browning completely but it can make the issue better! Your avocados won’t brown as much when mixed with lemon juice!

My ultimate suggestion, however, would be to refrain from making the avocado salad recipe until it’s just about time to eat. This will ensure the most delicious and refreshing product.
